What is Istikhara? |

Istikhara (استخارہ) is a Sunnah prayer performed when a Muslim faces an important decision and seeks Allah's guidance. The word "Istikhara" comes from the Arabic root meaning "to seek goodness." By performing Istikhara, a Muslim asks Allah to guide them toward whatever is better for them in this life and the hereafter.

Why is Istikhara Needed?

In our lives we face many crossroads — choosing a life partner, accepting a job offer, making a business decision, resolving family disputes, or handling legal matters. At such moments, human wisdom alone can fall short. Istikhara turns the heart toward Allah, seeking His infinite knowledge and guidance.
